Bringing The Outdoors In

With the colder weather approaching and the daylight growing shorter, we are spending more time indoors. My poor dog still goes outside and looks for the sunniest & warmest spot in the backyard and will lay there as long as possible. She is soaking in the last warm rays of the sun before the snow falls. Smart pooch!

But there are many ways to bring the outdoors inside and expand the seasons. While not all of us have the luxury of building our houses around trees.....

....there are a few other options!

One of natures perfect colors, use green to remind you of spring and summer. Area rugs, pictures, accents or paint one wall green!

While it may be obvious, a lot of us don't use plants inside the home. They can be time-consuming with maintenance, so if you plan on having them, you will need to devote at least some watering time! The bathroom is a perfect place for plants with the humidity resulting from hot shower steam.

There are different types of wall murals. Those that are painstakingly painted and those that are for lazy people like me. If you want to hire an artist, go for it and get something like this:

....or order a wall paper nature mural. They are incredibly life like and you can always remove it and change the scene!

Last but not least, the absolutely easiest way to bring the outdoors in is with a fresh bouquet of flowers. Whether you get fancy with your arrangements or keep it simple, it will always bring a smile to your face.
